Inside the Stay

The stay, told in four parts

One of the most surprising hotels we have found. A small boutique house in the French Quarter that leans fully into Indochine design and delivers one of the finest suites we have stayed in in Vietnam, held together by warm hospitality and a level of craft larger addresses rarely match.

The Room We Would Book

A Tonkin Suite with a private balcony

The Tonkin Suite is where the hotel is at its most itself, the lotus mural, the lacquer panels, the marble and green mosaic bathroom and the tiled balcony above the quarter all held in a single room.

The balcony is the second surprise and the reason to choose the suite over a standard room; ask for one on the higher of the floors for the fuller line of the city towers held in the middle distance.

A Curious Detail

Tonkin Luxury Boutique Hotel & Spa contains only 36 rooms and suites spread across eight floors. Despite its intimate scale and discreet street presence, the property places an infinity pool and sky bar on its rooftop, creating a far grander experience above the city than guests might expect when first arriving.
