What stays with you most is how naturally the team makes you feel recognised. Max's welcome set the tone beautifully, while Silvia and Hugo added a warmth that felt genuine rather than rehearsed. Even simple requests were handled quickly and with a level of care that made the whole stay feel personal.

The Harbour View room feels more like a private residence than a hotel suite. Loro Piana fabrics, contemporary art, fine leather and carefully chosen finishes give the space real depth. Then there is the view, which changes the entire room and makes it difficult to look anywhere else.

The bed is one of those details you remember long after leaving. The pillows are soft without losing support, and the room has a calmness that makes it easy to switch off. The air conditioning could cool a little faster, but the sleep itself was exceptional.

Dining at Rosewood feels confident without trying too hard. Holt's Café was a real highlight, especially the prawn toast and barbecue pork rice, while Legacy House offered a more refined take on Cantonese dining. DarkSide then brings everything together with atmosphere, music and a real sense of occasion.

The Welcome on Arrival
The stay begins with a welcome that feels personal from the start. Max introduces the hotel with warmth and context before the harbour view, champagne, fresh fruit and handwritten note quietly take over. It feels less like checking in and more like arriving somewhere that has already thought about you.
Where the Room Meets the View
The room grows more impressive the longer you spend in it. At first, the view commands your attention, but soon the Loro Piana fabrics, contemporary art and beautifully judged finishes begin to reveal themselves. It is refined without feeling precious, and comfortable enough to make leaving surprisingly difficult.
The Infinity Pool and the Island
A day here unfolds with an unusual sense of ease. The gym feels calm and considered, the pool offers one of the finest harbour settings in the hotel, and a visit to Rossano Ferretti with Luca adds another thoughtful layer to the stay. Holt's Café brings warmth and flavour, while Legacy House and DarkSide give the evening its own sense of occasion.

The harbour remains the focal point, the bed is deeply comfortable, and the room carries the same quiet residential elegance that makes the hotel so memorable. When booking, we would request this room on as high a floor as possible, because at Rosewood Hong Kong the height and the view shape the entire experience.
Rosewood Hong Kong stands on the old Holt's Wharf, a Kowloon shipping berth dating to 1910 and once among the busiest in the region. New World Development acquired the land in the early nineteen seventies and, from 2010, cleared the New World Centre that had stood here to make way for something more ambitious.
In its place rose Victoria Dockside, an arts and design district led by Adrian Cheng at a cost of around US$2.6 billion. Rosewood opened as its centrepiece on 17 March 2019, conceived not as a conventional tower but as a vertical estate, a family home imagined at the scale of a skyscraper.
The architecture is by Kohn Pedersen Fox, the interiors by Tony Chi, and the two are unusually of one mind. Loro Piana fabrics, warm metals and a residential sense of proportion give the rooms their quiet confidence, while a serious art collection, with works by Henry Moore and Damien Hirst, runs through the public spaces.
That is why Rosewood feels residential rather than grand. It behaves like a private house that happens to keep eleven restaurants and bars and an entire wellness floor, and it is this restraint, more than any single flourish, that makes it matter.
