Hospitality
The service felt polished from the moment we arrived. Our luggage was collected immediately, check in was offered several hours early, and the team arranged an upgrade to the thirty ninth floor with genuine warmth. Small moments, especially the care shown by Raymond when helping with our luggage after departure, made the hospitality feel personal rather than purely efficient.

Room and Design
The room felt large, modern and beautifully connected, with the wardrobe, bathroom and living space flowing naturally into one another. The curtains opening automatically onto the skyline created a memorable first impression, while Diptyque amenities, a Dyson hairdryer, SMEG kettle, cocktail cabinet and carefully designed lighting gave the room real depth. Even the smaller details felt considered, from the branded bath bombs to the extensive minibar and tea service.

Sleep and Comfort
The bed was exceptionally comfortable, with excellent pillows and a calm atmosphere that made it easy to rest after a long day in the city. Lighting controls were simple and intuitive, with reading, dim and brighter settings available from the bedside. The room felt both spacious and restful, which is not always easy to achieve in a hotel of this scale.

The Culinary Experience
Dining was consistently strong throughout the stay. The chicken wings were among the best we have experienced, while the nasi lemak, lemon tart and bean sprout salad all arrived beautifully presented and full of flavour. At the rooftop, the club sandwich, fries and octopus salad were equally enjoyable, and the pricing felt surprisingly reasonable for a hotel of this stature.

The Guest Experience
Marina Bay Sands understands how to create a sense of occasion. The early check in, high floor upgrade, complimentary chocolates, custom coasters and the ability to continue using the pool after checkout all made the stay feel generous. More than anything, the hotel gives you the feeling that you are somewhere important, and for a night, it is very easy to feel like the city belongs to you.

Few hotels are as closely tied to their city as Marina Bay Sands. The building has become part of Singapore’s identity, and the room, rooftop and skyline views all remind you exactly where you are. It is bold, theatrical and unmistakable, yet the experience still manages to feel personal once you are inside it.

Facilities and Wellbeing
The infinity pool is the defining feature and remains the finest hotel pool we have experienced. Swimming above the skyline during the day is memorable, but the experience becomes even more remarkable at night when the city lights reflect across the water. The gym itself was well equipped and professionally staffed, although its location in a separate building made it less convenient than the rest of the hotel.

The hospitality is generous, the design is modern and considered, the dining is consistently strong, and the rooftop creates a sense of spectacle that few hotels in the world can match. It is a property that understands how to turn a single night into something memorable.
The room provides the comfort and refinement expected at this level, but it is the relationship between the hotel and the city that truly defines the stay. From the skyline opening before you as the curtains draw back to the view from the infinity pool after dark, almost every major moment feels connected to Singapore. The hotel does not simply sit within the destination. It has become part of the destination itself.
Its one notable weakness is the distance to the gym, which interrupts an otherwise seamless experience. Yet this feels minor beside the strength of the whole. Marina Bay Sands is awarded Four Ovelle because it combines hospitality, scale, design, dining and atmosphere into a stay that feels singular, iconic and almost impossible to recreate anywhere else.

The Room and Its Bed
The room feels generous, modern and carefully connected, with the wardrobe, bathroom and bedroom flowing naturally into one another. Diptyque amenities, a Dyson hairdryer, branded bath bombs, a SMEG kettle and the cocktail cabinet add personality without overwhelming the space. Yet the skyline remains the true centre of the room, especially once the city begins to light up after dark.
In-Room Dining
A day here naturally revolves around the rooftop. The infinity pool is remarkable in daylight, but becomes unforgettable at night when the water, palm trees and skyline all begin to glow together. Excellent in room dining, relaxed food beside the pool and attentive service make it easy to spend the entire day within the hotel, although reaching the gym requires a noticeably longer walk than expected.

Even after checkout, the experience does not end immediately. Pool access is extended into the afternoon, allowing one final meal, swim and view across the city before leaving. Small moments, including Raymond carefully helping us access our stored luggage, gave the departure the same warmth as the arrival and made the stay feel generous until the very end.

The Room We Would Book
Sands Premier Room, City View
This is the room we would book at Marina Bay Sands. At around forty five square metres it is generous and modern, with the wardrobe, expansive marble bathroom and living space flowing naturally into one another, a bespoke armoire and cocktail bar, and the Singapore skyline held in floor to ceiling glass.
The view is what makes it, so we would request a floor as high as possible. The higher you stay, the more the city opens beneath you, and the room settles into a calm that the lower floors never quite reach.
Marina Bay Sands opened in 2010 as the centrepiece of Singapore's reclaimed Marina Bay, a resort conceived at a scale the city had not attempted before. Three curving towers rise from the waterfront, joined at the top by a single platform that has since become the defining image of modern Singapore.
The design is by Moshe Safdie, whose practice set the SkyPark across the three towers like a vessel run aground in the clouds. The cantilever that carries the famous infinity pool reaches out beyond the north tower, more than fifty storeys above the bay.
Beneath the towers sits a small city of its own, with a convention centre, the lotus-shaped ArtScience Museum, a canal running through the shops and a theatre among them. It was built by the Las Vegas Sands group at a cost of around US$5.7 billion, among the most expensive buildings in the world when it opened.
What could read as pure spectacle is tempered by the water. The bay softens the towers, the SkyPark gives the whole thing a horizon, and the result is a hotel that manages to feel calm at the very top even as the city moves below.
A Curious Detail
The SkyPark crowning the three towers is longer than the Eiffel Tower is tall, and reaches some sixty-seven metres past the north tower, carrying the famous infinity pool more than fifty storeys above the bay.
