Hospitality
The staff were one of the strongest parts of the experience. Everyone we encountered was accommodating, extremely kind and genuinely eager to help, creating a warmth that made the stay feel easy from beginning to end. Service was consistently excellent, even if the experience could have included a few more personal moments to make it feel truly individual.

Room and Design
The room was fantastic, spacious, elegant and beautifully arranged around the Kuala Lumpur skyline. The bathroom was the true highlight, with proportions so generous that it felt larger than some hotel rooms we have stayed in. The materials, lighting and overall layout created a space that felt refined, calm and genuinely luxurious.

Sleep and Comfort
The room provided an exceptionally peaceful and comfortable place to rest. The bed was excellent, the atmosphere remained quiet and the generous proportions prevented the space from ever feeling crowded. Everything worked together to create the kind of restorative sleep expected from a hotel centred around wellbeing.

The Culinary Experience
Breakfast offered a beautiful selection of pastries, including a matcha croissant, cupcakes, focaccia and several other carefully presented options. The breakfast room also provided fantastic views across the Kuala Lumpur skyline, making the setting one of the most memorable parts of the morning. The dishes ordered from the menu were less impressive, with the traditional breakfast feeling quite average and the French toast enjoyable without being especially memorable.
The in room dining experience was considerably stronger. The nasi goreng, tempura prawns, apple treacle tart and freshly squeezed apple juice arrived promptly, with excellent presentation and remarkable flavour throughout. It was one of the finest parts of the stay and demonstrated the quality the hotel is capable of delivering.

The overall experience felt calm, generous and easy to enjoy. The exceptional room, remarkable bathroom and warm staff created a strong foundation, while the skyline views remained present throughout the stay. A few more personal details within the room or service would have elevated the emotional connection further, but the experience was still deeply enjoyable.

Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur feels closely connected to the city without becoming overwhelmed by it. The skyline is visible from the room, breakfast setting and swimming pool, with views towards the Petronas Towers giving the hotel a clear sense of place. Inside, the atmosphere remains quiet and restorative, creating a beautiful contrast with the energy below.

Facilities and Wellbeing
The swimming pool was a genuine highlight, offering beautiful views towards the Petronas Towers and a calm place to spend time above the city. The gym was relatively compact, but it included every machine needed for a complete workout and never felt overcrowded. Both spaces supported the hotel's focus on wellbeing, even if a larger fitness area would have made the offering feel more complete.

Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur earns Three Ovelle because it combines a remarkable room, exceptional hospitality and some of the finest skyline views in the city. The bathroom alone gives the stay a real sense of occasion, while the kindness of the staff creates an atmosphere that feels welcoming and sincere. From the pool overlooking the Petronas Towers to the calm of the room above the city, the experience carries a strong and consistent identity.
Dining revealed two different sides of the hotel. The breakfast pastries and skyline setting were beautiful, but the main dishes ordered from the menu felt more ordinary than expected. In contrast, the in room dining was outstanding, with excellent presentation, impressive flavour and timely service across every dish ordered.
Three Ovelle recognises a hotel that delivers an exceptional city stay with very little to fault. The room, bathroom, staff, pool and in room dining all reached an impressive standard. A few more personal touches and a more expansive fitness offering would bring it closer to the highest recognition, but Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur remains a hotel we would confidently recommend and happily return to.

The stay begins with a warm welcome from a team that feels genuinely kind and eager to help. Entering the room immediately creates a sense of occasion, with the skyline opening beyond the windows and the generous proportions becoming clear. The bathroom then reveals itself as something even more impressive, transforming the room into a true retreat above the city.
The Bath, with a View
The room becomes more enjoyable the longer you spend within it. Its scale creates a feeling of calm, while the bathroom offers enough space to become part of the experience rather than simply a practical feature. Outside the windows, Kuala Lumpur remains constantly present without disturbing the peace inside.
The Pool
The morning begins with pastries, focaccia and beautiful skyline views from the breakfast room. While the menu dishes feel less distinctive, the setting makes the experience memorable in its own way. Later, the compact but well equipped gym and the pool overlooking the Petronas Towers provide two very different ways to enjoy the hotel.

The strongest dining experience arrives without needing to leave the room. A high-floor suite facing the Petronas Twin Towers
The reason to come is the view, and the Petronas-facing rooms are the picture at its most familiar. Ask for a room on the higher of the seven hotel floors and on the Twin Towers side, and the corner sitting nook and the bathtub both end up looking straight at the icon.
The bathroom is a proper room in its own right, so ask that any occasion be noted at reservation; the arrival scent ceremony and the pillow menu are already there, and the team here have a real habit of marking a milestone.
Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur opened in 2018 on Jalan Conlay, a short distance from KLCC and the Petronas Towers, as the brand's first city hotel in Malaysia.
It occupies the top seven floors of a slender tower, so the whole hotel sits high above the street. The design carries Banyan Tree's Asian sanctuary language into a vertical form, with dark timber, warm textiles and a quiet, considered welcome.
The rooftop holds Vertigo, the sky bar, while Horizon Grill anchors the dining a few floors below. The altitude is the point: the city is present in every window, yet kept at a remove.
A Curious Detail
When Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur opened in July 2018, it became the brand's first hotel in Malaysia. Despite occupying a 60 storey tower, it contains only 55 rooms and suites, giving the property a far more intimate atmosphere than its dramatic scale might suggest.
