Philosophy

On how we choose to live. This is where we think aloud about taste, slowness, and the eloquence of restraint. The collection is young and still growing, with a new essay arriving each month.

Why It Comes First

Philosophy is where Carter Beau begins, because everything else we publish rests upon it. Before a wardrobe can be considered or a room composed, there has to be a view of what a life is for. Taste without thought is merely fashion, and a beautiful home without a beautiful reason is only a photograph.

The essays gathered here are our attempt at that view. They are not academic and they carry no jargon. They are meditations on taste, on slowness, on restraint, written in the belief that how you think determines how you live, and that how you live is the only argument that finally matters.
